Most recently, you you jumped in on the Better Me In 2023 challenge. Let’s talk about your progress since that point!
Yeah I joined the gym fairly early but wasn’t consistently going, to be honest. I ended up upgrading my membership and my first Fusion 50 class was in March 2022. Will be coming up on a year soon!
What are you doing differently with this challenge that you were not doing before? What have you learned in doing so?
I’ve been placing a much bigger focus on what I’m putting into my body instead of just trying to out-work my diet. The things we choose to put into our body are just as much, if not more, important than how much time we put in at the gym. You can’t run an efficient car on bad fuel!
What do you attribute your progress to?
I have a lot of my family actively working on making better dietary choices also, plus several people at the gym are going through it with me and have been great sounding boards. Having a support group of people all working toward the same goal makes it a lot easier to stay focused.
How do you feel now versus when you began?
I feel great! It’s pretty wild how much of a difference your dietary choices can make in so many aspects of your life.
What would you tell others to encourage them on their own journey?
Focus less on the end game and focus more on taking it one day at a time. Major progress with anything is the result of several incremental and small victories. If you fall off track one day, don’t beat yourself up and quit. Just re-focus the next day and keep going!
